Create or Copy a Group/Skill


Back to Groups and Skills...

As in all administration tabs there are two options to create a new group/skill. If you want to create from scratch a group/skill whose properties are not similar to any already existing group, then press the button "Create".

If you want to create a group that is similar to an existing group and you want to change only a few points, then please select  the "original group/skill" in the list and press the button "Copy".

In both cases a detail-window will appear that displays all the properties of the group.

This window is divided into two areas that you can edit. On the left side is the branch "Details" with the following characteristics of the group:

  • Name: The name of the group
  • Description: Optional short annotation
  • Type: Group or skill
  • Priority: Standard priority for todos within this group
  • Scheduled time: Standard finishing time for todos within this group
  • Service Level: The targeted servicelevel for this group
  • Responsibility: The responsible user for this group
  • Group State: With the option „Group State“ you can decide, if a group/skill is active ore locked-out.

The second branch "Memberships and Permisssions" is located on the right side of the window. This is a table that displays all users of todo4teams. For each user you can set whether he belongs to the selected group and whether he has permission to create todos for this group. You can do this directly using the checkbox in the column of "Membership" and set "Permission". Enable or disable these to determine their membership and permissions.

When you have made all the settings for this tab, you can click on the button "Save" to save the edited group with the current settings in the system. You can exit this window at any time by pressing the button "Cancel".
